The Kashrus — Exactly What's on Record

The hotel's own FAQ, verbatim: the hotel "is kosher under the supervision of the Kiryat Shmona Rabbinate." That's the whole public record — checked August 2026.
What is NOT published: any tier. No mehadrin claim, no chalav Yisrael, pas Yisrael, or bishul Yisrael detail, no mashgiach arrangement. Directories that just say "Rabbanut" add nothing. If your family's standard needs any of those answered, the current written teudah — requested at booking — is the only real answer, and we obtain it for every placement.
Seasonal upgrade evidence: frum tour operators run organized Pesach programs at the property with their own kitchens and hashgacha — proof observant groups use Hagoshrim, but a program's kashrus is the operator's, not the hotel's year-round standard. Don't conflate them.

Shabbos in the Galil — The Mechanics and the Honesty

Verified from the hotel's own FAQ: non-electronic Shabbat keys on request from reception; check-in after Shabbos resumes about 30 minutes after it ends; an on-site shul on Level 0 of the Ma'ayan HaKoren Building, around 100 seats, described as always open.
The minyan truth: an open shul room is not a guaranteed minyan. Up north, whether ten men gather midweek depends entirely on who's staying that day — the opposite of Jerusalem, where the minyan finds you. Shabbos with your own family group solves it; a minyan-dependent solo weekday guest should call ahead. No other page on this search will tell you this; it's the difference between a good trip and a frustrating one.
Not documented — ask before booking: a Shabbat elevator, and how Shabbos meals are handled in the restaurant for your specific dates (published dinner hours are 6:30–8:30 p.m.; a 2015 forum post praised a "Shabbat buffet," but that predates the renovation by a decade — we treat it as history, not fact).

Mid-renovation: a NIS 10 million rebuild is underway — the Dan Building went from 44 rooms to 32 larger rustic-modern units (reopening from 2025), with 43 more garden rooms planned and a glass elevator, rooftop bar, and second pool on the drawing board. Anything you read from before 2025 — including the ubiquitous "184 rooms" figure — describes the old hotel.
The water: the famous "river through the lobby" line isn't traceable to any primary source — what's real is arguably better: streams, springs, waterfalls, and restored mills laced through the grounds and the kibbutz itself.
Facilities: a 600 m² Nature Spa with 10 treatment rooms, year-round heated indoor pool, seasonal outdoor pool, fitness center, squash and basketball courts, kayak tours in season, and a restaurant leaning on Galilee produce. No pets.
Position: beside Kiryat Shmona in the Hula Valley — about 8 km from the Banias waterfall and reserve, near Tel Dan and the Snir, facing Mount Hermon. From Jerusalem, plan 3+ hours' drive; from Teveria about an hour.

Who It's Really For

The honest use-case: chol hamoed and bein-hazmanim nature days, family Shabbatons that bring their own minyan, and north-country add-ons to a Jerusalem-centered trip. One more honesty note: "kibbutz hotel" never automatically means frum-friendly — the neighboring names you'll see in searches (Galilion, Kfar Blum) each need their own kashrus check, exactly like this one. What’s real and verified: the grounds are built around natural streams and springs, with waterfalls, restored mills, and water channels flowing through the property and the kibbutz. It is genuinely one of the most water-blessed hotel settings in Israel; the lobby just isn’t a riverbed.

The honest answer: it’s in flux. The old "184 rooms" figure you’ll see on tour sites predates the current NIS 10 million renovation — the Dan Building alone was rebuilt from 44 rooms into 32 larger ones (reopening from 2025), with another 43 garden rooms planned. Plan on roughly 3 hours or more of driving — this is the far north: Hula Valley, beside Kiryat Shmona, minutes from the Banias and Tel Dan reserves with Mount Hermon on the horizon. It is a genuine northern base for chol hamoed and nature days, not a Jerusalem alternative. Most families do 2–3 nights north and keep Shabbos in Jerusalem; we build that itinerary — hotels, driver, and all.
