For decades, Prima Kings has been the answer to a very specific question: "Where can an observant family stay Glatt Mehadrin, walk everywhere, and not pay Waldorf prices?" The address does most of the work — 60 King George Street, with the Great Synagogue one minute away (the hotel's own wording — it's around the corner at number 56, not literally facing it, as some listings imply), Ben Yehuda a few minutes off, Mamilla about five, and the Old City walkable.

The honest caveat is condition: the hotel reports a 2024 refresh of the lobby, elevators, dining areas, and a new spa and fitness center — and recent guest reviews genuinely split, with late-2025 guests praising cleanliness, breakfast, and staff while at least one earlier 2025 review described visible wear. Book it as what it is: a well-located, well-priced 4-star with a serious hechsher — not a luxury product — and you'll be in the large majority of satisfied guests.

The Kashrus, Exactly

• What it is: Glatt Kosher Mehadrin under the supervision of the Jerusalem Rabbinate (Rabbanut Yerushalayim Mehadrin). The hotel's own site and three independent sources state it in nearly identical words — checked August 2026, no conflicting claims found. There's also an in-house synagogue.
• What it is not: a Badatz. Families whose rav expects Badatz Agudat Yisrael or Badatz Eida HaChareidis should not stretch "Rabbanut Mehadrin" to cover that — the same chain offers Prima Palace under Badatz Agudat Yisrael, one of our four partner hotels, usually at a comparable price.
• One warning about booking sites: a major OTA currently describes the Kings' kashrus as "dietary preferences… featuring kosher and halal choices." That is not how a Glatt Mehadrin hotel works — it's templated nonsense, and a good example of why hechsher facts should come from the teudah, not a booking widget. We confirm the current certificate in writing before any placement.

Which Prima Is Which — The Table Nobody Made

Prima runs five Jerusalem hotels, and Google itself mixes them up (it serves Prima Palace pages for Kings-kosher searches, and forums are full of "Kings or Royale?" confusion). Here's the map:

Rooms, Dining, Practicalities — Confirmed vs. Unconfirmed

• Rooms: 213, in six categories, some with balconies — the hotel's own count.
• Dining: Mosaic Resto-Bar overlooking Paris Square, buffet breakfast, and the Kings Lounge — all under the hotel's Glatt Mehadrin supervision. The hotel serves an observant clientele year-round; confirm Shabbos meal arrangements and times in writing when you book.
• Fitness & spa: fitness room confirmed; a new spa is reported as part of the 2024 refresh.
• Parking: none on-site — nearby paid lots only. Factor that in if you're renting a car (or let us arrange a driver instead).
• Not confirmed anywhere — and we won't guess: on-site mikveh (that's Prima Palace), pool, and Shabbos elevator. Our earlier page implied a Shabbos elevator; no source supports it, so we've pulled the claim — ask the hotel directly, as we do before any placement.
• Price positioning: genuinely mid-tier — published rates across booking sites run roughly $140–300 a night by season. Never rely on a quoted figure staying true; get it in writing.
