Kashrus & Hechsher

What is the difference between Badatz Eida HaChareidis and Badatz Agudat Yisrael at Jerusalem hotels?

They are two different chareidi supervising bodies, not levels of the same one. Among JRM hotels, Haneviim Boutique is under Badatz Eida HaChareidis and Prima Palace is under Badatz Agudat Yisrael — both stringent and widely accepted, but families are usually loyal to one based on their rav or kehillah.

Badatz Eida HaChareidis is generally regarded as the most machmir of the mainstream Jerusalem badatzim and is the standard for much of the Yerushalmi and chassidish world. Badatz Agudat Yisrael is also a fully mehadrin chareidi hechsher, recognized across the chareidi world, and is the standard many families are entirely comfortable with.

The practical point: this is rarely about "better" — it is about which hechsher your family's rav or minhag follows. If you tell us the hechsher your home kitchen keeps, we will place you at the hotel that matches it rather than ask you to compromise.
