Location & Walking Distance

Which kosher hotel in Jerusalem is closest to the Machane Yehuda market (the shuk)?

Of the four hotels JRM books, Haneviim Boutique in central Jerusalem is the closest to Machane Yehuda — it sits within walking distance of the shuk, and the light rail (which stops at Machane Yehuda) runs nearby for an easy ride there and on through the city. Prima Palace near Geulah is the next closest.

Machane Yehuda is a major draw for frum families — kosher food stalls and restaurants, and the erev-Shabbos and Thursday-night atmosphere. Haneviim Boutique, on Haneviim Street in the city center, is the JRM hotel best placed for it: within walking distance of the shuk, with the light rail a short walk away.

Prima Palace near Geulah is also an easy walk or light-rail ride to the shuk via Jaffa Street. The two Romema hotels — Yirmiyahu 33 and Jerusalem Gate — sit further out at the entrance to the city, where families usually take the light rail to reach Machane Yehuda and the center of town.
