The Kashrus — Better Than We Said

Checked against the hotel's own site, August 2026 — and this is a rare correction in the happy direction. Our earlier page said "Rabbanut Mehadrin." The hotel itself states more:

• Triple supervision, per the hotel: Glatt Mehadrin — Jerusalem Rabbinate, Glatt Mehadrin OU, and Rav Efrati's kashrus, with a mehadrin breakfast and Shabbos dinners reservable in advance. Independent listings corroborate the Rabbinate + OU pairing.
• Worth noticing: Rav Efrati is the same posek whose mehadrin stands behind Yirmiyahu 33 — at a fraction of the price point. (A shared certifier, not a shared hotel — we note the coincidence without claiming more.)
• The standing rule: supervision arrangements change; the current teudah for your dates decides — we request it in writing before any placement.

The Honest Read — Including Our Corrections

• What it is: a 3.5-star value hotel (we previously said "four-star"; the booking platforms say 3.5, so we've corrected ourselves) — 180 rooms including family rooms, clean and functional rather than polished, with guest scores that reflect exactly that trade.
• Where it really is: Kiryat Moshe, at 4 Zeev Vilnai Street — the same street cluster as the Ramada and Royal Jerusalem, bordering (not inside) Givat Shaul. Our old "Givat Shaul" framing overstated the address. What the location actually delivers: the Central Bus Station, light rail, and Binyanei HaUma minutes away, and Mercaz HaRav around the corner.
• Current caveat: as of our August 2026 check, the hotel's own site notes the outdoor pool and spa are closed. If a pool is part of your plan, confirm status first.
• Retracted: our earlier "Shabbos elevator — verified" line. No source supports it; we ask the hotel directly for every placement, and so should you.

Shabbos & Simchas

• Shabbos infrastructure: an on-site synagogue, reservable Shabbos meals under the mehadrin supervision, and published Shabbos-aware desk windows — late check-in about 2.5 hours after Shabbos begins, checkout extended up to an hour after Shabbos ends. The hotel openly courts Shabbos-keeping guests.
• Simchas: event halls up to about 120 guests — the bar-mitzvah and sheva-brachos sweet spot, with the Glatt Mehadrin kitchen behind the catering. Bigger than that, look at the Ramada down the street; this size, the Ganei is often the best-value room-block in town.

How It Compares

• Against Jerusalem Gate (JRM partner, Badatz Mehadrin Rabbanut + OU, 298 rooms, Romema): the closest value comparison — Jerusalem Gate adds scale, the mall next door, and our direct desk; the Ganei answers with the Efrati name on the teudah and simcha halls in-house. We price both side by side routinely.
• Against the Ramada (same street): the Ramada is three times the scale with the big ballroom and pools; the Ganei is smaller, cheaper, and arguably carries the stronger certifier list. Same cluster, different jobs.
