Kashrus & Hechsher
Is Hotel Litov Jerusalem kosher? What hechsher does it have?
Yes — Hotel Litov at Ha-Nevi'im Street 43 is kosher under Badatz Mehadrin supervision by Harav Avraham Rubin shlita (a private badatz, not the municipal Rabbanut). Until November 2021 the property operated under Badatz Eida HaChareidis; it transitioned to Harav Rubin's badatz at that time. Families should confirm the current teudah for their specific dates — JRM does this in writing before any placement.
The Litov's Badatz certificate puts its kitchen in genuine Badatz territory at one of the lowest price points of any Badatz-certified hotel in Jerusalem — a small, modest property of roughly 50 rooms in the city-center corridor near Musrara, an easy 8–12 minute walk to Geulah and Meah Shearim. It has an on-site shul (minyanim run when occupancy supports them), an events hall, and an unusually open Shabbos table: non-guests can reserve Shabbos and Yom Tov meals and are served breakfast on Shabbos morning for 70 NIS.
One known complication: a separate listing for a "Litov Kotel Hotel" advertising proximity to the Western Wall appears on some booking aggregators. This page covers the Litov at Ha-Nevi'im Street 43 only — confirm the exact address before any booking. Shabbos elevator status is not published; we verify it per booking. JRM verified the hechsher details against the hotel's own site in August 2026.
